Welcome to iMore. Give this a try.
Go in Settings>Wi-Fi. Disable Wi-Fi if you are connected to the router. Re-enable Wi-Fi. Tap on Other and enter your router name (exactly the same) and password. All done! Now the password is saved and you don't have to type it in every time you want to reconnect to your router. Also the button "forget this network" should now there. Hope this solves your problem.
