I'm Waiting as Well

It's 12:49 AM where I live and I just was on wait with Apple for TWENTY-FIVE minutes for them just to tell me they don't know when they will release it. WTF?
So I'm waiting until 2:00 AM, central time, where I am located, and if I don't have it by then I am putting myself into anxious sleep.

I'm fairly certain even at midnight in california they won't release it. If I wouldn't be awake anyway I don't think I would be waiting.

Historically...

I don't recall when the 2.0 software came out but from what I can recall from previous Apple releases, the software has tended to come out around noon or in the early afternoon of the day that they have quoted. It may not really re worth your while to stay up and wait for this (especially for Eastern and Central timers). I guess if you are out west though it can't hurt.

PST or EST solved!

Since the last three updates have been released at Midnight Pacific Time, 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2, I'm fairly certain that the much anticipated and highly hindered by the evil AT&T, (who btw has just managed to beat Microsoft as most evil company), update 3.0, will be released at Midnight Pacific Time, or 3 AM EST, or 2 AM CST, or 1 AM MST, for those of you who are too lame to be East or West Coast people.

Good news everybody! I just downloaded it here on the west coast!

Oh wait, never mind. That was the Rene Ritchie "Why I am trading my iPhone for a Pre" podcast that finally downloaded. False alarm everybody.

You hook up to iTunes and hit "check for updates" on the your iphone device section. It will then give you the option to download and install it. Right now it will tell you that you are on the current newest version, but when it is released it will be really easy to follow it through.

A tool? Why thank you. I am a carpenter and my tools are very important to me. I appreciate value of a good tool, and the compliment as well.

Anyone download the Golden Master

Just curious, has any one downloaded and installed the Golden Master? I work with a developer who gave me a link to get it. I downloaded it and installed it (Windows users hold down the shift key before clicking 'Check for Update' button and point to the 'iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw' file). It installed fine (less than 20 minutes) and seems very stable. I just want to find out if the public release is going to be the same build number (7A341)?
