seems like the "updating is easy" button has been updated, but not working properly yet... maybe they are updating as we speak, and hitting at midnight AU time?? (i.e. 5 mins?? )

Seems some guy named "Gates" has broken into the Apple Servers' Building and demolished them all.... no word as to when the damage will be repaired. Gates was last seen escaping through a window.

hmmm... Hate to float a scary idea, but has anyone taken a closer look at the broken image link on the Australian iPhone page? The image is install-learnhow-20090619.png . I'm afraid to ask what the 0619 is all about.

Ilounge.com is reporting "According to a network-wide SMS sent to Hong Kong-based 3 customers notifying users of a June 18, 01:00 local time release for iPhone OS 3.0, Engadget estimates that the anticipated upgrade will see a release at around 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time today".

In the UK the O2 Website mentioning the OS3 changeover has been updated from stating "available on the 17th" to now read:

"The new iPhone OS 3.0 software arrives on later today. Get it and your iPhone will have over 100 new features."


Looks like they did a quick edit there probably after getting their support phone lines hammered.

If I backup and restore my jailbroken iPhone 3G running on 2.2.1 software to install 3.0 software (whenever it becomes available) will Apple somehow lock my phone forever?!?!
