Texting overseas

When sending a text overseas is it better to use the WhatsApp or what? They do have a iPhone

Why not use iMessage? It has end to end encryption, and it's built in to iOS.

As long as you’re on Wifi or using a local SIM card in that country overseas you can use whatever online service you like. If money is no problem you could even use roaming to stay connected.

Me personally have a Turkish prepaid SIM card which I keep active by adding to the balance to it every six months.
That way whenever I’m there I use that SIM card to get online.
Sure, every time I swap SIM cards it prompts me if I want to change my associated number with iCloud and WhatsApp and whatever other online services I use but I just ignore those prompts. That way people can contact me as always.
