Hi again. How do I block texts and report them as spam? I'm used to just long pressing the text message and a menu will pop up for me to block the number and report it as spam. I tried doing that here and there's no such option but to delete. I also tried opening the message itself and looking at the drop down menu from the 3 dots and there was nothing there either. Thanks.

Also, you can forward the text messages to many carriers. To do so, long press on the actual text message bubble, until a menu pops up. Select "More..." and then tap on the arrow located at the bottom right corner of the screen. In the "To" field, type 7726 and send. You will then receive an automated text back, requesting the phone number where the spam originated from. This can be found near the top of the screen.

I'm not sure which Carrier you are using, but this basically works for most North American carriers, such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile/Sprint, etc.

You should also report any phishing attacks to ftc.gov/complaint. This helps them build a case against the attackers.

So I have the filtering on but I don't seem to have that "report junk" at the bottom of the message.

“Report Junk” will only show up on iMessages. Not on SMS or MMS messages.

For those, what I do is long press on the message and choose “Forward”. Then, I send it to “spam” (which is also 7726). My mobile carrier then asks for the offending email address or phone number, which I provide. And I’m done. This process will vary by carrier; don’t assume my process will work for you.

For blocking, it’s a 3 step process: tap on the icon at the top, choose “Info”, then tap “Info” (again) and “Block this Caller”.
