Not sure if it just me but my iPhone 4S on Verizon takes FOREVER to load on 3G, like 2-3 minutes per page. On Wi-Fi it's blazing fast.....I live in NY area so my connection should be good and I had a Droid X before hand and it was fine on 3G. I called Verizon but they just said it will take some time for everything to work. It's now 6 hours later and it's still slow. Any suggestions to fix?

Mine is faster on 3G than my thunderbolt was on 3G. Maybe you are in a congested area because mine takes no where near that to load pages.

I just shut off Push notifications and that has somewhat helped the speed of it but it's still rather slow

Edit: Never mind it's still the same..........:( hopefully that this is just a one time thing today

Mine is just as fast ( or slow) on sprint 3G as my nexus s was. Network speeds are really subjective though. Depending on where you are, how many people are on the tower your connected to, etc.

Yeah but the only difference is that on my droid it worked 10x faster on 3G but on wifi the 4 S destroys. Gonna give it a couple of days but it's painfully slow on 3G

Speed Test?

What kind of speeds are you guys getting? My WiFi speed is faster than the speed of my MacBook Pro!

I'm on Verizon:

On WiFi - 10.92mbps down, 1.44mbps up

On 3G - 1.53mbps down, .68mbps up

In my house I only have 3 bars... so I'm thinking 1.53 isn't too bad, but I'm usually on wifi at home anyway.

No that's not bad at all for 3G speeds. I managed to get about 3.99Mbps down at home with AT&T. Was expecting around 6-8Mbps considering this phone supports 14.4Mbps. Oh well.

Speed test aren't always the best way to quantify how fast download speeds are. I've owned both Verizon and AT&T iP4 (at the same time for a bit) and while the AT&T always had a higher download speed per the app, real life was much closer than the results read.

My speed tests are so inconsistent I don't know what to think, both on 4 and 4S. The best I got today on 4S was 4.5/1, but sometimes it was under 1. Last week I actually got one test of 8.5/6! But I usually have only 2 or 3 bars at home.

MIne is FAST. When I switched to Verizon I got a used OG Droid and noticed speeds seemed to be slower than on the EVO I forced to roam on Verizon to test the network, and it was. I am getting speeds that are double or better in weak areas with the 4S than the Droid. Reception is fantastic!

Well it can depend on signal and network traffic. As long as web pages load quickly, and you can watch YouTube videos and such, I wouldn't be too concerned about the speed.

Hmm... You have AT&T in SF. I heard they suck there. Is it true?

Wifi is definitely fast. I'm accustomed to Sprint's 3G Speed, which Gizmodo tested against Verizon and AT&T. While Sprint has the slowest of the three network speeds, we don't have HSPA+, so that's probably why. It doesn't matter to me because we have unlimited and they don't. 3G is plenty good for me.
