It is possble to take acceptably cute photos of bright objects with a telescope. This week I simply held the iPhone over the eyepiece of my telescope, and slowly wriggled it until the object that I had in focus appeared on the iPhone. I got some nice shots of Saturn and the Moon. Taking a movie sort of proved that I was hand held. It is amazing that any came out okay.

My scope, though, is a pretty good one, a 16 inch mirror reflector with an excellent eyepiece.

I'll post the photos and movie when I figure out how to do that.
