synch problem

My itunes music library resides on my S drive of my PC. I am trying to sync checked songs to my ipad, but I keep getting the message that synch failed to start. How do I fix it? Thanks

I would assume that once you plug your iPad into iTunes and go to to the top menu bar under file, You will find Devices and then the arrow to the right you will find a list and Sync will not be grayed out so choose sync and that should be what you are looking for.
