Sync option not coming in itunes

Hi. I have an iphone 3g with 2.1 version installed. Last night i upgrades itunes software to 8.2.1

Now when i connect iphone to my laptop i face sync problem.
In itunes in the iphone icon when i right click only eject option comes. Earlier on right click sync option was there, which no more exists. How can i sync iphone with itunes now.

Did you try to upgrade your iPhone to 3.0.1?

I just upgraded itunes. Iphone version remains 2.1

Did you click the tab to check for upgrade?

You don't need to right click to sync. Just click on your iPhone in iTunes and your device should show up in iTunes then upgrade to 3.0.

Maybe it is Apple's way of telling you to upgrade to 3.0.

Didn't Itunes make you upgrade , when you upgrade itunes ?

iTunes is always reminding me to upgrade. I haven't upgraded yet.
