Sync calendar with Google calendar

Is there a way to sync my iPhone's calendar with my Google calendar? I want to be able to enter a new calendar event and have it sync over to my Google calendar so I can see it and it will provide reminders on my android.

Yep, you sure can. Google has really good instructions here for setting up access to google calendar on iOS through settings / mail, calendars and contacts: https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/99358

Yup, and once you add it, set it as the default in Settings -> Mail Contacts and Calendars
