Switching from AT&T to Verizon Question

My wife currently has a 3GS on AT&T. I'd like to move her over to my family plan on Verizon. Is there a way I can preorder her a 4S on Verizon and have her existing phone number ported over? Or is that something that has to be done in-store?

Yeah, you can have her number ported over, there might be a fee, contact Verizon and order it by adding a new line, but make sure you tell them you want you're old phone number. Hope this helps!
