I need help with an iPhone 7 bought used- to send to Europe- it was previously used on Straight Talk and i am getting “sim card incompatible message” i sent the phone to my brother in Europe and he cannot use it with his or any carrier there. I previously sent my family iPhones and never had this happen.
Does anyone know if a Straight Talk phone is locked (I already called straight talk, t mobile, att, apple) i have the IMEI #
can a Straight Talk iphone be
Unlocked? Thank you!!!!

Sure sounds like it's carrier locked. This COULD be simply something Straight Talk does OR it could also be the phone was locked because it was carrier financed. Once the financing is done you must contact the carrier to get this type of lock taken off. Also if its locked as part of their policies, then you may be able to get them to unlock it. You would most likely need to be a customer in good standing to get this done. :)

EDIT: Based on my google research, it appears often Straight Talk DOES SIM lock their phones in particular when it's an AT&T compatible phone.
