Is it possible to keep books on an external iXpand flash drive and then import them to read them. This is for an iPad on a boat where there will be no internet and the Ipad memory can't hold all the books I need

I saw that Amazon has several different models of SanDisk iXpand Flash drives that supposedly work with iPads. I have no personal experience with them, but have been curious.
