Stolen phone no confirmation

iMore Question

My phone got stolen in Bali, I chose to erase the data on the iPhone about half an hour later in find my iPhone. However now it does not show up anymore on find my iPhone and I did not receive a confirmation email saying the phone got reconnected and erased. Could it be that the thieves already erased all the data or?

More than likely the device is no longer connected to the internet. Once the device is online, then the erase will commence and you will get an email confirmation.
