Step count - iPhone greater then watch

I have been starting to question the step counter on the watch. Recently my phone has been counting more steps then the watch. What is odd is that I don't carry my phone all the time and my watch is always on my wrist.

Has anyone else seen this?

Forgot to add.. I am using Fitbit app on my phone to register steps through the phone.

I'm fine on mine... The steps on the Watch are the same in the Health app on the phone, and the activity App on the phone... The issue is likely differences in activity that is counted as steps on the Fitbit vs the Watch...

My Health app right now is showing 7962 and the Activity app shows 7935. They're always very close but rarely exactly in sync.

Newbie question: You said "steps on the watch." How do you see steps on the watch? Or, did you mean the Activity app on the iPhone?

How do you see steps on the watch?

Activity app on the Watch... scroll down from the screen with all the rings... it shows Active Calories, Steps, and Total distance.

FYI, after my morning run, the Health app and Activity app are synced. I think sometimes they're off because they just haven't synced yet.

I wish that were the case.. Fitbit grabs data from the iPhone pedometer and the activity app gets data from Apple watch. Yesterday. Fitbit reported 28,000 steps.. watch and activity app reported 19,000. This is a big difference.

Starting to think something is wrong with my watch. Set up the workout app for an out door walk. Walked for 40 min. When I was done it reported 12 min of workout.
iPhone steps: 10,289 today
Watch steps: 7,698

The iPhone is only on me 70% of the day, how can it be reading more then the watch that is on me all day???
