Spinning clock

My iPhone 5 has recently started having the ole spinning clock and laggy for about the last week. Have restarted phone and done the basic tips I think. Any suggestions ??

Backup to iTunes, iCloud or both, and then restore your device as new.

If I just wait for ios7 will that be the same as restore to new. Should be coming out any day now.

It depends on the method of upgrading. If you upgrade via iCloud, you may simply be downloading and installing what is necessary to upgrade your device. When I say restore as new, I'm specifically referring to making the device as it was when you turned it on for the very first time and not restoring from a backup. Doing so will allow you to discard a bad setting, rogue app, etcetera from possibly being the culprit of the problem/issues you are currently experiencing.
