The speaker function worked well until 2 days ago. Now, when on a call, activating the speaker phone function disrupts the signal and ends the call. Weird. Any help with this? Thanks.

I'd first try a restore as new, but it sounds like a hardware problem and I'd suggest taking it into Apple to repair or replace it.
sounds less like a hardware problem than something went bad in the software. try backing up and restoring the phone
