Something Weird Just Happened With My Watch...

I am trying to check the notifications on my watch and for whatever reason, every time I touch my screen, the watch shuts off. I was trying to turn it off the normal way, hoping that would solve the issue (holding the side button until the power off option comes up) and still, when I touched the screen, it would just shut off. I took the watch of my wrist and when I tried to enter my passcode, again, it cuts off as soon as I touch it.

My watch has no wear and tear, no water damage, no scratches. To date, this is the first major concern I have had with my watch. I was able to do a hard reset (holding the digital crown and side button at the same time for a few seconds) and that helped the problem.

I wanted to share this with you guys and I also wanted to see if anyone has experienced this same problem.

That's the funny thing, Wrist Raise was still functional. When I raised my wrist fully, it would come on. It wasn't until I touched it to swipe for notifications or glances that it cut off on it.

It was very weird.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. The only way I got mine to work was to unpair and then re-pair.
No other problems since then.

Thankfully, I've yet to experience anything abnormal with my Watch. What WatchOS version are you running, by the way?

That is strange , always have to remember this is the first OS for the First Apple Watch . I am sure once they polish the software is will correct many minor issues.

This happened to my dad too. You're not crazy. Sucks not being able to even slide to turn it off! But, hold down the digital crown and the button on the side for around 10 seconds and it should restart itself.

Last week mine locked up (watchOS 1.1). I realized it happened after comparing the watch time to my phone and work computer. Screen press, digital crown, and the "friends" button were unresponsive.

The hard reset solved the problem it seems. That's the only glitch I've noticed in the ~ two months I've had it.

I have a schedule set to reboot my phone and watch once a week. In general its good practice to flush out any running apps and caches that might have built up.
