“Most charge an extra fee, if they support it at all.”

Wait, what?

I know it’s anecdotal, but I have owned 3 autos and a motorcycle which supported CarPlay without charging for it.

So from my personal sampling of vehicles I have owned since CarPlay was introduced I am at 4 out of 7 supporting CarPlay for free.

The three that did not were a work truck and a cargo van - both autos bare-bones vehicles barely even equipped with a radio; and a motorcycle with no screen at all.

Wasn’t BMW one of the only manufacturers that charged for CarPlay and haven’t they back-pedaled that policy?
