Slow SMB connections with NAS

Just a handy heads up for anyone having the same issue I was experiencing since Sierra upgrade...

As soon as I upgraded and AFP became a pain in the a$$ with my NAS (Synology Diskstation), I switched to connecting via SMB, but everything was PAINFULLY slow. In case you are experiencing similar, this link below (scroll down to the terminal command) helped me greatly. Basically, the issue seems to come down to Apple?s SMB forcing default enabling of ?client signing? which ruins performance. More info below.
