The new Skype update now let you make skype to skype call over 3G for free until Aug, But what about the people that already pay for Skype out? Will we have to pay again to use 3G?

No, this is a new payment for skype-to-skype 3G. I imagine if you already have skype credits they will be used towards it but will be worth more because skype-to-skype is cheaper.

Jailbreak Issues?

Also has anyone who is jailbroken installed verion 2.0? I read that it only works on unmodified phones whatever that means. I waiting to install the new version until it's safe i guess.

Thanks.

I'm jailbroken. When you first open it, you get a popup message that it is supported only on unmodified phones...but it works just fine.

Yeah, it's just to let people know that certain problems may not be because of the app itself but because of the jailbreak or unsupported firmware.

Skype working over 3g is great news. but seems like the will start charging at the end of 2010! So its free for now.

Good way to get ppl to be hooked on using skpe on 3g then charging the ones who are hooked!

What if you're trying to use Skype-to-Skype 3G while overseas? Will you still be charged overseas roaming?

If anyone is interested (e.g. ouchyphone) here is Skype's answer to my question: "Unless you have a complete roaming agreement with your mobile network provider (covering calls AND data traffic) we recommend not to use Skype via 3G when abroad."

How about Skype out calls over 3G. If AT&T gets one penny of that, I will not play. I am not going to cooperate in paying different rates for different applications. A bit is a bit is a bit. It is bad enough that AT&T gets away with charging iPhone users higher rates than other devices.

How can you be charged roaming on a skype VOiP call??????
First, one pays data roaming charges, usually quite high, when on a GSM network other than AT&T's. Second, AT&T is not "net neutral." It charges, different rates for different phones, different rates for different operating systems, and, by an agreement in restraint of trade with Apple, it charges different rates for different applications and resists some applications altogether, e.g. tethering. While the FCC is resisting this on the wired Internet, it seems to be buying AT&T's argument that it is necessary, at least on the wireless side.
