Siri Wont work on TXT messages for dictation after ios 6 update

I used to use siri a lot to dictate txt messages and ever since updating to ios6 the mic is greyed out.

Siri is still on and I can use her from the main menu or for other things but I cant dictate txt messages.

I can use it to search in safari to dictate my search.

Anyone have a fix for this? I have an 4s on vzw. Non jailbreak.

Can you post a screenshot. USing your iPhone, simultaneously press the home button & power to take a screenshot.

I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 6 and, like you, I am on the Verizon network. Here is a screenshot of my message screen, but my mic is not greyed out. The second photo shows the dictation is awaiting my feedback. Am I misunderstanding your post? If so, please clarify.

I meant if i hold the home button siri will pop up like normal and act like normal. Dont know where main menu came from? (been a busy day)

Maybe Apple blocked it.

Works on my 5 I looked around settings and can see anywhere were you have it not activated

I did a hard reboot and that seemed to fix it maybe the update didnt take quite right with just the regular reboots.

Same thing happened to me. Just turned the phone off and back on again. Haven't had any issues with that since.
