Does anyone have problems with siri when trying to connect it without “Hey siri” just by closing the watch to the mouth?

My watch very often does not react in that situations.

I believe you're referring to the "Raise to Speak" feature. I haven't been very successful using that either, so I just did some sleuthing and found this article here on iMore with tips on how to use it. Here's a link:

I just tried it and was successful! Keep in mind, this feature is only available on Series 3 & 4, running WatchOS 5.

I just wait till my screen lits up and start telling Siri what I want. Works every time.
