SIM free option?

I see SIM free options for the 6S line on Apple's site, but nothing about it for the 7/7 Plus. Does Apple usually release that version later or what? I would like to purchase that option so I can avoid going through a carrier altogether.

What if you're not on Verizon, sprint or any of those. Does this mean you'll have to wait months before you will get to use the iPhone 7?

If you know someone with a Verizon account, then you can have them buy it for you full retail plus $20 upgrade fee. On the 7, it is factory sim unlocked and fully compatible with the major USA carriers.

When I bought my 6S Plus at the Apple store, the website gave me the choice of "sim free" which is what I bought. I put my Verizon card in it. Now Apple's website doesn't give the sim free choice. You need to choose a carrier. All of the Androids I bought from Verizon had their apps loaded and they also changed some programs. Does Verizon do that with the "Verizon" phones from the Apple store? Sorry, I don't mean to be redundant.

No. no carrier apps on any iPhone ever. Apple won't even allow carrier logos.

OK great. That's what I thought, buy my 6S Plus is my first iPhone so I wasn't sure. My last two Androids were direct from Motorola and Google because of Verizon messing with my full price phones. Needless to say I am loving the iOS system after dealing with Android. Thanks!
