I’ve had several SG iPhones in the last few years so I decided to get a silver 11 Pro Max this year. I’ve been rocking my SG XS Max caseless for about 6 months and the metal still looks brand new. Will the silver metal hold up as well as the SG.
After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
I don’t see why anything would change seeing it’s the same material. I think you’ll be fine.

No, it won’t, but the upside is that all scratches are buffable on the silver while not on the SG
So you’ve owned a silver X or Xs ?
No, I own a silver pro max (already has a scratch on the silver) and a stainless steel series 4. They’re incredibly prone to scratches but it buffs out. I just use a cape cod buffing cloth on my series 4.
Have you been using a case on the Pro Max?
no desire to currentlyYeah, I've been rocking the SG for several years as well, but this time I decided to go with the Midnight Green. When I looked at the Silver it was kinda plain and wasn't for me. Enjoy your new color choice and I wouldn't worry about scratches, you're probably going to upgrade next year anyway. Thats what Techies do....LOL
If the silver gets microscratches that can be seen in bright light I probably won’t care. Kinda like on my screen. The scratches you see in sunlight only don’t bother me.
I’ve decided to swap the silver for a gold Pro Max. Waiting outside the only AT&T store in town with one.
Just get the silver man. Stop being paranoid and enjoy the silver!!!!!!!!!!

Nope. Took it back. Paid $45. Got a gold 256GB. I don’t need that kind of stress in my life for a year.
I like the gold better anyway.
