Apple does give the option of signing a release form and putting it on the door. I have gotten deliveries of phones and iPads with the release document. But I am in a fairly safe and secluded area. We get lots of packages and the drivers know us well. I have had them "sign for me" for shipments worth several thousand dollars.

I live in a rural area and I'm on first name basis with my Mailman, UPS guy and FedEx gal (Smile), they just leave my package(s) on my door step, however I realize this is not the norm. May I suggest giving them a call and having them deliver to your job or asking a neighbor to look out.

When I ordered the iPhone5 from Apple, I was able to have them hold it at the UPS depot and I went and picked it up - did that via the UPS tracking page...

Once the phone is shipped I also have the option of changing the address, but I think there is a small charge for that... I think I'll just sign a release so they can leave them at my door. Thanks
