Seriously, Apple... AirPods are still not in stores on a reliable basis?

Surprised no one has commented on this... but we're 8 months in and the darn things still aren't anywhere to be found on store shelves. How the heck is that even possible?

It safe to assume that people either have them already, have purchased them online or via their wireless provider or aren’t interested in getting them. Furthermore, being that a large amount of people, especially millennials, do a great deal of shopping online, it’s not really surprising that store stock is almost nonexistent.
