when I wish to connect to the internet via safari it will not connect to the server

Welcome to iMore! Try this first: Reset your iPad by holding down the power button and home button until you see the Apple boot logo. If you do that and you're still unable to connect, answer these questions:

1. Is Safari the only app that can't connect to the Internet or are other apps unable to connect too?
2. Are you connected via Wi-Fi or cellular?
3. Are you trying multiple web sites?
4. If you're connected via cellular, go you have Safari toggled on under "USE CELLULAR DATA FOR" in Settings > Cellular?
