Speculation if the Apple Watch will be standalone. I don't see why not! If Samsung can make a smart watch as a standalone, why can't Apple?
Samsung watch works as a separate account with its own number for data reasons alone. Still linked to your phone but can be used separate .i liked it because could go do things and leave phone behind.
I like my Apple Watch. Still awesome but being standalone would be even better.

Can it be done? Sure. But at a cost money wise and a cost to the battery life. Now what do you really need it to do that you wouldn't have your phone that long for that the current watch can't do? Just curious.
