ringtone section missing in itunes!!!

i am still a newbie when i connect my phone and open up itunes i cannopt fing the ringtone section to put downloaded ringtones in please help

Are they in the m4r format that the iPhone uses? If not, they won't show up.

If they are, you'll have to import them into iTunes first, then the ringtones section will show up and you'll have the option to sync them to your phone.

Make sure it's set to show TONES... Settings, General, check the TONES check box. It may not be checked by default.

how do u change format

Change your import settings to AAC, 64bit... then highlight the .mp3 formatted file and right click... choose CREATE AAC VERSION. Then you need to copy it out of iTunes and rename the file from sometone.m4a to sometone.m4r... double click it to add ti back to iTunes and it should be in the TONES section.
