Restrict attachments imessage sms

Hi
I want to stop I message / SMS sending or receiving attachments. Its for my sons phone.

Is this possible.

I don't think you can stop iMessage from receiving attachments, so if you really wanted him to not send/receive attachments on iMessage, then you would have to turn off iMessage completely and just use SMS.

To turn off SMS attachments, go to Messages settings and turn off MMS messaging. Now he will not be able to send or receive attachments.

He can send and receive SMS text messages, but not iMessage. How old is he? He may can figure out how to set it back to iMessage.

You can use restrictions to stop your son from reenabling stuff you disabled. You can protect it with your own passcode which he won’t know.

Also, please note that iMessage isn’t the only medium to share photos.

Yes. Your best tool is your authority as a parent. You have every right to check your son's phone anytime. If any misbehaving with photos continues, take the phone away.
