Restore as new keep texts

Hello everyone i have been having battery issues ever since i upgraded to 3.0.1. Many people recommended to restore as new. Can I still keep my texts if i restore as new. I recently jailbroke so i can use a jailbreak app to.
Help asap wont be by comuter for week after tonight

The point is to restore as new not from a back up. And currently I know of no way to save your texts

You can ssh into your phone to back up the SMS.db /User/Library/SMS/sms.db and then replace it, if you jailbreak again. I have had poor luck re-using the sms.db with iRealSMS. I don't know if it saves some settings or what, but I do better with a clean install. If your not using iRealSMS...it shouldn't be a problem.
