Restore apple tv from jailbreak

Hi!

I've got an Apple tv2 that has been jailbreaked (version 4.4.4). Now Apple demands that I update to the latest software to be able to airplay Netflix, yet it seems totally impossible. I've tried to

- rejailbreak using Seas0npass
- install previous version using Seas0npass
- restore using itunes (it does not turn up in itunes at all)
- restore from atv (claims that it is not possible)
- installing something called Tinyumbrella, didn't work
- doing this 4.4.4 to 5.1 how to delte / uninstall jailbreak and atv flash | FireCore

Nothing seems to work.

Does anyone in this forum has an idea of what to do. Or should I simply buy a new one?

Go here: Download iOS IPSW Firmware Files -- download the IOS for the AppleTV 2nd Generation... then, connect the device to a computer running iTunes with microUSB cable - iTunes should see it... then click shift+Restore(PC) or option+Restore(Mac) and select the iOS you downloaded.
