Responding to text messages on iPhone, why don't I get the option to respond right away?

Responding to text messages on iPhone

When I receive a text message I don't get the option of responding right away. Now I have to send a response using email. This option used to appear at the bottom of the screen. How do I restore this option?

I don't understand what you mean. Are you referring to not being able to send texts at all or quick reply not working when you get the notifications?
