The issue stems from the Touch IC chip on the logic board failing. Below is a step by step guide:

Step 1. Disassemble the phone.

Step 2. Take out the iPhone logic board.

Step 3. The Touch IC chip is on the back of the board, so you need to remove the protective backing to gain access.

Step 4. Carefully use a hot-air soldering machine to remove the faulty Touch IC chip.

Step 5. Install the new replacement Touch IC chip.

Step 6. Test the phone and if it is working fine, then reassemble. DO NOT reassemble before making sure that the phone works perfectly.
