Remove from Recents missing from iOS 9 mail

The ability to remove a one-time use email address is GONE. My iOS 9 email is now cluttered with email addresses I've replied to used once. Anyone know a workaround or why Apple removed this feature?

I've never used this feature, ever. Maybe someone else will have some advice.

I am looking for the same solution. I used this feature all the time in the previous IOS version and now it is gone. Contacted an Apple specialist and she couldn't even help me. If anyone find the solution, please let us know.
