When you’re listening to let’s say a 70s essential album with various artists, does it display the essential album or the artist album? Hope that’s not confusing.

However if I close the music app and go back to last played it shows the 80's Album Art...along with my last listened to songs Album Art.

Good to know I’m not the only one

Did some testing.
To get this to show, I had to attempt to play a song in my library that is no longer available in my country or region by tapping the red play just under the album cover. This brings up "Not Playing".
What it shows:
1.The album cover of the song with the album title under it.
2.If played from my playlist, it only shows my playlist cover image, with the playlist title.
3.Does not show last played songs, only the album cover and album title.

You had to attempt to play a song in your library that is no longer available. That’s the first time I’ve heard of this.
