My brother made the mistake of updating his ipad while on his honeymoon in the Bahamas to iOS 10 and the update froze at about 90%. He did not use the cloud or sync it with his Mac. The only place that has the data is the iPad that when it turns on only shows the cable and iTunes logo.
He took it to the apple store and they said they could not recover the data, it will be wiped clean when it gets plugged into a computer. They referred him to a company in CA that wanted $1500 to recover everything. He does not care about the data on the ipad other than the 1800 photos on it.
Is there any other way to recover the photos without paying this insane price?
