right i have a iphone 3g on firmware 3.1.2, just wondered if i can upgrade to any 4.0 and still be able to jailbreak again? thanks in advance.

looks too complicated,some says i can and others says it wont work since im on 3.1.2, ive been jailbroken on 3.1.2 for a bout a year now, just fancied a change.

You can JB on 4.2.1 with Greenpois0n. if you need to be unlocked, it wont unlock it.

I'll say this: whether you can unlock it or not, I think updating a 3G to a 4.x firmware is a bad idea--it's just going to wreck your performance. I think 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 are the best for the 3G.

ok thanks to be honest i like the way my phone runs, i just wanted the Android lock XT as it is so cool!! but i have the android lock now, so aint much different, thanks!
