Questions regarding the replacement of an Apple AirPod case.

My son lost the case to his AirPods. It’s the non wireless type. I want to buy him a replacement case. A few questions before buying:

1. Can I buy him the wireless case and will it work with his AirPods?

2. Do I have to buy the Apple brand case or aftermarket will work?

3. In the mean time, can he use my AirPods case to charge his AirPods? If so, how will his iPhone/my iPhone differentiate between his AirPods and my AirPods when they are charging in my case?

2. You can buy an after-market brand, but be wary.
3. I don’t see why not. It just a charging mechanism.
