I have an 8+ right now, the only thing that's giving me pause with upgrading to an 11, is this
Right now, if my phone is sitting on the end table, I can push the home button with a non finger print finger, it'll just light up the lockscreen screen and show my recent notifications, I do that all the time. It sounds like with the new 'no home button' devices, you have to pick up the phone just to light the screen up? Or can you tap the screen or hit a side button just to light up the lock screen?

You can tap the screen and see notifications.
