Question on Optical Image Stabilization on iPhone 7

OIS is new to the smaller iPhone, in this case the iPhone 7. I thought I read somewhere it's only used in video shooting. Is that true or is it used when taking still pictures?

After reading the information below, I'd say that the OIS function is used for both still pics and videos.

[h=4]Optical image stabilization[/h]iPhone 7 comes with optical image stabilization to reduce blur associated with motion and handshake. A sensor helps the lens counteract even the tiniest movement, allowing for up to 3x longer exposure compared to iPhone 6s.

Both still and video basically the lens flats in the assembly and compensates for bumps and shakes so the aperture can stay open longer and capture more data.
