problem with google on my ipad

I clicked one of the google options - can't remember which one; I was looking for googlescholar but couldn't find it. I realised it was loading something quite complicated that I wasn't really interested in. Had no means of stopping so switched screens to Safari. Each time I have gone back to google it is still stuck on this download screen that is clearly not downloading but is stuck on some kind of loop.
Even after 16 hours and re-charging, Google will not open in its original screen but has a rotating sphere in the centre of the screen. It will not respond to anything I press.

Just tether your iPad to iTunes and set up as new like you just took it out of the box and you will be fine.
