What's prl?

The Preferred Roaming List (PRL) is a database in your phone that tells it which providers towers you can connect to, and in what priority when your provider's native owned/operated network is unavailable. They change from time to time when roaming agreements with other providers change, or when infrastructure changes take place in Verizon's own network, or, roaming partner network changes occur. For folks that travel a lot, it's not a bad idea to update your PRL before leaving your home area to make sure you're getting the most of your service if you get away from native Verizon coverage and are on a roaming partner network... It used to be one had to worry about roaming because it could cost you, sometimes big $$... but since verizon has gone to all National plans - that is no longer a worry... unless you're in a border area, and pick up service from Mexico or Canada... beware of that.
