I'm travelling right now and I don't have access to a surge protector power bar, Plus the fact that we are getting a lot of thunderstorms and power outages I'm just wondering if the iPhone has anything for circuit protection?

I know the iPhone has a temperature circuit shut down or whatever it's called if the device is used say in a hot climate or on the beach in direct sunlight or whatever, but how about this?

Do you worry about charging when there's a lightning storm? Should I even be concerned about this? These storm cells are probably the size of New York.

Love the iPhone 7.

iPhones are sensitive to power surges just like any other piece of electronic. Nothing inside of it is going to protect against a large surge. Heck, even surge protectors aren't guaranteed to work. The best thing you can do is keep it unplugged when you can and charge when things outside are calm.
