Poor wifi

I traded my galaxy for the iPhone 6 and the wifi range isn't a strong as the galaxy. Is this a fixable problem or is it just the way it is? I never thought I would switch to Apple but it's closeness to android is great for newbies.

not sure if this is a universal fix or just a fluke. my iPhone 6 was terrible on wifi, I mean dirt slow. I read on a forum somewhere that WEP security was causing an issue for some and changing your router to WPA2 security would fix it. tried that and it's been solid ever since. have seen reports of it not working, though, so it may not be the panacea.
