Please help ! iPhone 4s gevey advice

Greetings !
I just finished up living in China.
I bought an iPhone 4s with China telecom company but my service was china mobile... I had no problems while there
But
Now, I am back in the USA and I am trying to get my phone unlocked.
I am not too sure if it is unlocked or locked or if it is GSM or CDMA.
BUT
I was told that my phone was locked CDMA and was using a gevey chip.
I am still confused because though I had bought my phone in China the carrier without the sim identifies as Verizon 16.0
I have updated my phone to iOS 7.1 and I really want to make my phone work here in the USA.
Is it still possible?
Can someone please recommend if I should use gevey Ultra S or R-sim?
Also if I use a gevey or r-sim do I need to get the one that is Sprint locked because I have not seen verizon version but they both use CDMA

If it truly is a Verizon iPhone 4s (which it appears that it is), then in the US, you will ONLY be able to use it on Verizon.
