When I hook up my iPhone to my work computer, my tunes show up but I'm unable to click on them in iTunes - they're grayed out. Is there some way I can play them on this computer?

An iPhone can only by synced to one iTunes at a time. Meaning you just need to get speaker system for your iPhone.

I think you can put manually manage music on your home computer that you sync your iPhone on and then you'll be able to play the music when plugged into the computer. Haven't actually tried this so I'm not sure if it works, but you used to be able to do this with the classic iPod.
