Just got my first iPhone the new 8Plus. Video’d some things last night. Got the files on my PC now. I downloaded the latest version of QuickTime for Windows. It opens the files and I get audio playback but no video. I accessed the files then on my Mac Air, having it networked with my PC, but trying to run the file then from the Mac I get the message The file is not compatible with Quick Time Player. Will not even open it to play audio like it does on the PC. Some early capatibility issues with MOVs off the iPhone 8 and ios11 with Current quick time versions even on a MAC?

Playing MOV files off iPhone 8 on PC or MacAir

Crazy...downloaded VLC version 2.2.6 for win and it’s playing the MOV files! Thanks Tartarus for the suggestion! Can’t believe it though Apple’s own QuickTime will not?!

Yes but even the Quick Time on my Mac Air will not even open the files! That’s what blows my mind even more than the windows version not. The windows version at least opened them and played the audio?!

I don’t know the reason behind this.
Maybe there will be an update in the future to support the new file typesz
