Playback music while using skype?

I was just wondering if there is a way to prevent the music (iPod) from stopping when you open certain apps on the iPhone? Such as skype...

I know I can use the remote on the ibuds to start the music again, but the ibuds don't deliver the same sound quality my beyerdynamic dt990 does..
